a5c7b9f00b Ahh…the gum trees, the wide open (blue or is that gray) skies, the log cabins, the Aussie accents, the colonial hats, the…<br/><br/>This is Australian cinematography; 1950 style.<br/><br/>It was well done. This one needed to be digitized. (So many of the original Aussie movies have been destroyed.) Of course the acting is one dimensional, of course the guns sound like cap guns, of course the horses running sound like chop sticks on a table. But this is priceless !. There is something unique that makes you think &quot;I&#39;m glad Hollywood didn&#39;t do this&quot;. Seriously though, every red blooded Aussie will thoroughly enjoy this for what it is; a 1950 movie about &quot;our&quot; Ned. Sure; Heath Ledger&#39;s movie is slicker &amp; more polished. But this is from a different Australia.<br/><br/>Its worth a look again because this is part of us. It is what has partly made us. I am a relative of Rupert Kathner, I cant wait to watch my great grandfathers films I am even writing a report about him in my school history assignment =).<br/><br/>i hope to watch these movies someday and have high expectations in his films, i will write another review on them after iv&#39;e seen them and showed my familyit fells like it is a piece of my family history.<br/><br/>i have only recently found out that he is a relative from my mother and and she found out from my Nan. if anyone is a relative of one of the actors or any other role i hope you reply in this review too =). i will rate after i see it.
